Kaya, a Marsh Pixie from the Florida Everglades!

The Everglades are tropical marshland located in the southern portion of the U.S. state of Florida. It is a rare and beautiful place that is home to the panther, manatee, bobcat, alligators and of course Pixies!

The Everglades now is only 50% of its original size due to overbuilding and pollution. The Everglades that remains is threatened by water pollution from fertilizers used in farming and waste runoff from local communities. This pollution and land loss of land not only effects the everglades and all of its wildlife but also the thousands of other animals that depend on the Everglades. Animals like the birds that come every year on their way to and from other faraway places such as Canada and South America.

Maia, a tree pixie from the Amazon Rainforest!

The Amazon is the world's largest and most famous rainforest and is home to more species of plants and animals than any other place on the planet. About 30% of the world's animal species are found there including the jaguar, parrots, crocodiles, many kinds of monkeys - and of course Pixies!

The trees of the Amazon are being cut down every day, much faster than the Amazon trees grow. This is called “deforestation”. Humans are the main cause of the loss of rainforest trees. We cut down rainforests for many reasons, including wood for both building and heating; to make way for farms and grazing land for cattle, and road construction. Deforestation is a very real environmental threat. All around the world, trees are being cut down too quickly for Earth to grow new forests. We are losing types of trees and animals that we don't even know existed!

Anyu, an Ice Pixie from the North Pole.

Located on the northernmost point on Earth the North Pole is magical, wintery wonderland that is home to reindeer, polar bears, seals - and of course Pixies! The land of the North Pole and the area around it isn’t really land at all. It’s really a huge mass of ice floating on top of the Arctic Ocean! This ice is called the “polar ice cap”, and it is very important to our planet. What happens at the North Pole affects all life on Earth.

Pollution from all over the world travels and gets trapped at the north pole causing temperatures to rise and the arctic ice to melt. This is called global warming. When the arctic ice melts, it can cause a rise in sea level temperature in all the world’s oceans, which can even contribute to natural disasters like hurricanes.

The melting of the ice is also a threat to animals such as the polar bear which depend on the ice for survival. The biggest cause of global warming is the carbon dioxide released when oil and coal are burned for energy. So by conserving energy, you can fight global warming!
