Cork Underlayment Adhesive, 4 Gallons, covers up to 680 sq. ft. Attaching the underlayment to the subfloor with this adhesive is only necessary if you plan to attach the flooring above the flooring to the underlayment. Determining this depends on what type of flooring you choose. For example, floating flooring would be laid on top of the underlayment and would not need to be attached, but ceramic tile would need to be attached.

Shaw 1500 Multipurpose adhesive was introduced as a replacement product for USFloors® Cork underlayment multipurpose adhesive, 4-Gallon Size. Covers 140-170 sf per gallon (560-680 sf per 4 gallons) with 1/16" x 1/16" Square Notch trowel. US Floors® Cork Underlayment Multipurpose Adhesive is a solvent free, nonflammable, latex-based adhesive used for the interior installation of a wide variety of flooring materials. 2085 provides a strong bond, has excellent open time, wet tack, and high ultimate strength. Do not use it outdoors.

USE TO INSTALL: Carpet: jute, latex unitary, polypropylene (actionbac®), needle punched, polyurethane laminate, attached polyurethane cushion, woven carpet, rubber foam back, all backings designed for the installation of direct glue down carpet, and manufacturer approved double-stick installations. For more information on approved double-stick carpet pad and double-stick installations, contact USFloors Technical Services at 800-404- 2675. Sheet goods: commercial, felt-back, and inlaid sheet vinyl. NOT recommended for vinyl back flooring of any kind.

USE OVER: Concrete: above, on or below grade in the absence of excessive moisture and alkali. APA registered plywood underlayment, hardboard, association grade particleboard. NOT recommended over existing vinyl flooring.

FLOOR PREPARATION: Floor must be clean, level, and dry. Remove all foreign substances such as wax, grease, dirt and any substance or chemical that would interfere with a good bond. Test concrete subfloor for alkalinity (pH of floor should be between 5 and 9). Take corrective measures if concrete surface pH is outside these limits. Moisture tests should be performed using an anhydrous calcium chloride test according to ASTM F-1869 test method. Moisture emissions should not exceed 5.0 lbs. per 1,000 square feet per 24 hours (2.27 kg/92.9m2/24 hours). Relative Humidity readings according to ASTM F-2170 should not exceed (RH) 85%. If both tests are performed the RH test is the qualifying standard. Fill all holes and cracks with a Portland cement-based patching compound. Sand high spots, install underlayment grade plywood or particleboard underlayment over tongue and groove flooring to eliminate the possibility of telegraphing. For the best results, the room, floor covering, and adhesive should be between 65°F (18°C) and 95o F (35o C) and at a relative humidity between 30% and 60% for 24 hours before, during and after the installation.
